For the second year in a row, Atelier Stimamiglio renews its GOTS certificate and with it its commitment to environmental and social sustainability issues.
Why GOTS certification so important to Atelier Stimamiglio?
The Global Organic Textile Standard is more than a certificate; it’s a promise of authenticity and transparency. In this era that both promotes and opposes the growth of fast fashion, this standard is a distinctive element of corporate ethics and a necessary starting point for ensuring a future where the beauty of fashion and the enchantment of nature share the same path, sailing side by side.
For Atelier Stimamiglio, being GOTS certified represents a statement of complete dedication to guaranteeing a competent supply chain as much as possible aligned with the – nowadays impactful – social and environmental subject matters.
Environment and therefore nature are precisely the focus of GOTS, favouring products that contain at least 70% natural fibers from not only organic farming but also processes that respect the fiber’s origin. Besides, the Global Organic Textile Standard requires the usage of organic chemicals and compliance with environmental and social criteria throughout the production chain, from the sourcing of natural fibers to the labeling of the finished product.
From a corporate perspective, GOTS also boasts two key strengths. First, the guarantee of traceability and supervision of the entire production process as well as its compliance with environmental and social criteria; second, and no less important, its validity which extends to all major international markets.
